Sales update

Happy Holidays!

Thank you to everyone that has been watching my YouTube videos, it's been fun to make them and share more of my life with you guys. I still want to update the blog a couple times a week, so don't worry this place isn't going anywhere. Here's a link to my newest video if you want to check it out-

Let's talk numbers:

As you can see sales slumped off the last couple days, that's to be expected as people travel and spend time with loved ones. Don't stop working though, people start shopping as soon as they see that they didn't get what they wanted under the tree. I'm still right at that 6K for 30 day mark, my goal is to keep that there.

Here's everything I've sold since the 20th, I thought you might want to check out what's been moving

Lots of those little bread and butter sales, it's what keeps me afloat during the slower times. I sold two swimsuits to the same person this morning, she lives only a couple towns away and I know the weather is horrible so I like to think she got a tropical vacation for Christmas! Get those swimsuits up guys, people are going to be leaving town and you can't buy them in stores.

I wanted to talk about this sale, it was missing pieces and I made sure to note that on 3 places within the listing. The buyer messaged me today disappointed and angry that the puzzle was incomplete. I explained that I was sorry and did my best to describe it, but how could I fix this. The next message the buyer took blame and said they thought I meant I hadn't done the puzzle. Instead of getting mad I immediately refunded them, apologized and said keep the puzzle. I had noticed they didn't have any feedback and were new buyers, I want to keep them on our platform!! They seemed so amazed that I would do that, I got an immediate "thank you so much, next time I'll be sure to read the listings. Lesson learned"

That is exactly the goal, help your buyers learn & instead of having their first experience on eBay be negative I made it positive. They will shop again on eBay and probably tell people. Customer service is everything! I lost a few dollars but that's nothing compared to what the community gained.

Wrapping up here, I hope you guys have a great holiday. I know these two littles are thrilled to open the presents my eBay sales provided for them.

  1. OK - I KNOW I should be wrapping presents and making the appetizers and dessert for tomorrow's Christmas lunch at mom's house. But it was 77 - SEVENTY SEVEN degrees today and that really took me out of the holiday mood! So I'm taking a break and reading your blog!

Congratulations to you and your great outlook on selling and taking care of your customer re the puzzle. I read your listing and didn't see an issue. But after the buyer explained their side, I could see that there could be two interpretations of "a not complete puzzle". Bravo on your crisis management! Those future buyers will tell everyone they know about their positive experience and that is good for all sellers.

OK - break time is over. Time to assemble neighbors' gifts and figure out a way to creatively wrap cash for my nieces. I've used CD covers, cigar boxes, test tubes in the past. Maybe I'll use pill bottles this year and decorate the tops. I'll make sure to use the kid-proof ones - bwahahahahaha - I'm such a mean auntie. BTW - your kiddos are adorable!

  2. Ree Cee I'm with you on the heat. It was in the 80's here today and high humidity so it was sweltering lol! To Nicole, I've sold a good bit of things since yesterday surprisingly!! But my local GW outlet is making me nervous as the selection has gotten thinner and thinner until the other day I just gave up and left. There are a couple others within an hour drive from me but I'd rather stay local. Do you find yours gets kinda sad just before Christmas?

  3. Nicole - I have been a youtube subscriber for about a week or so and then i also saw you on the Reseller Stew yesterday, so I'm enjoying learning from you all over the place!! I did want to make one tiny suggestion on this blog post.... for privacy reasons, you might want to remove the names of your buyers from here. Otherwise, keep up the great work...look forward to seeing more from you!!!

  5. Maybe you still get these, but I sure miss your motivation! All the people with their "I only get things that sell for $x or make $x profit" get me down these days. If I'm making a profit it shouldn't matter right?? Just throwing this out there. ;)
