Daily Sales + A Trip to the Bins

I just got home from the Goodwill Outlet! I purchased 66 items for a total of $39. I walked in right as they where wheeling out a new row of clothes I quickly got in line and found about 30 Nike & Columbia pieces!!

I tried to pick up some other randoms things aside from typical clothing but struck out pretty hard. The only good find was this vintage Sleepy Time board game. The only one I could find on eBay recently sold for $50!

I really want to branch out, so I'll keep trying! My last find of the day was an Eileen Fisher sweater, I had already decided to leave but was picking through the bins as I walked to the front and there it was! I also found 2 Anthropologie pieces in the same bin.

Yesterday's sales where good. I sold 6 items for a total of $135. My biggest sale of the day was this Elevenses coat by Anthropologie. I bought it for $2 from my favorite thift.

My numbers are holding at right under $1,000. I can't wait to break through that barrier.

That's all for today. Now to keep on listing!

Daily Sales & Picture Set Up

Hey guys!! Sadly I have listed zero new items today. I spent my morning volunteering at my sons school followed by taking photos of 50 items!

This is no small task, photographing is my least favorite part of this job. I have to make sure each item looks perfect, lint rolling, sweater shaving and triming loose threads. I find missed flaws in about 15% of my items that I didn't see during sourcing, so I always do a good check of each item. Then I have to measure everything! Here's a photo of my cleaned up area where I photograph everything.

I was able to clean out about 4 bins! A few people have asked if I have a professional set up so I thought I'd show you that I don't! I take photos on my mannequine against the blank wall, there is track lighting above pointed down and also a big window I open during the day for natural lighting.

Now onto the sales. Yesterday I sold 8 things totaling $124. My numbers are steady but I'd love to see them rise!

My biggest sale was an Anne Klein sheath dress, I got it for $2 at my favorite thrift. It's the third one I've bought there, they always sell within a couple days!

My shipping for the day, my husband actually helps with this part. I pull all the items and he packages & sends them out!

I put all my clothing items in a polymailer before the flat rate envelope, I also ship at 4 pm each day to try and get as much same day shipping in that I can. My feedback is proof that customers love this!

I'm going to list tonight and tomorrow morning, if I get all 50 items up a trip to the bins is in store! I can't wait to show you guys what I find!!

Daily Sales Update

I did it, I hit my goal of having 275 items listed today! I put up 27 new listings and restarted a few unsolds. It felt great!!

Yesterday's numbers where slow and steady. 10 items sold for a total of $122. My highest sold was for only $18, a pair of black suede docker boots.

My weekly sales are right under where I want them to be ($1,000 minimum) but I know I need to keep listing and it will increase. I'm thinking about branching out to other items besides clothing, possibly toys since it's another item j know about.

Tomorrow I need to take more photos, I'd love to hit the 300 mark but factoring in sales I'd be happy to just list 25 new items.

Sales Update

Yesterday was a day full of picture taking! I spent the day sorting, measuring and photographing about 100 items. It was intense!

Not much to update in sales, I sold 7 items totalling $137 yesterday. My weekly sales numbers are almost at $1,000 which is EXACTLY the minimum I want them to be at.

The biggest sale of the day was the Bunny sweater I picked up a few days ago. I was wanting $100 but I took an offer of $65. There was a good reason though, I had a best offer out to a lady who was asking a million questions. I was getting nervous about her buying and returning because she was in China and return shipping would have been a big issue. $65 on a $1 purchase is not going to make me sad!

For some reason Tuesday's happen to be my best days so today I've been ramping up my listings. I've got 232 items listed now and I want to hit 275 before I go to sleep tonight. Wish me luck!

Daily sales report

Today was a good day! I woke up and started listing immediately, my husband was even kind enough to bring me coffee in bed! I spent a couple hours putting new items up and pinning things to Pinterest. If you're not pinning your items to Pinterest I strongly suggest starting, it's a great way to easily market your items!!

After lunch I spent 4 hours at the bins.

Here's the 144 items I purchased folded into my car. I spent $70, so less than 50 cents an item!

My top 3 finds where a new with tags Nike Super Bowl jacket (retail $180, selling for $120 on eBay) an Anne Kline suit jacket (retail $320 on sale for $90, I'll list for $75) and a brand I'd never heard of but am glad I took a chance on because this Masion Scotch hoodie sales for $90 on eBay!!

I'll cross my fingers that those two things alone will net about $300. I also got a ton of Columbia fleeces, a north face jacket, Anthropologie items, 3 life is good tees and piles more!

Sales where strong today, I've sold 9 items so far totaling $160

(I should mention I added two more sales last night totaling $30)

A funny thing happened twice today, I recieved a best offer on two items and both times when I went to except the buyer had already just paid full price! It was amazing! They where also my top two sales, my sons Halloween costume from last year (a PBK shark) for $36.50 and a Black fur vest that was purchased at the bins this week for $32.50.

Now to go through this giant pile and start listing! I hope you guys had a great scavenging day too!

Slow days

Today was certainly an odd day. My husband and I spent the morning helping out at my sons school...

Followed by devastating news that a close co-worker (we both worked together at one point) had passed away last night after getting hit by a car. He was 27 and would have celebrated his first wedding anniversary in two days. My heart is broken tonight as I write this.

eBay was slow and steady. I listed about 15 items today. Sold 7 items totaling $102.

My highest sale was this penguin sweater for $20 (horrible!)

I was also able to stop at our local thrift store, they had a buy one get one free sale on normal priced items (so 2 pieces of clothes for $5) plus they have an entire room full of $2 clothing. I spent $26 for 11 items, including 3 ugly Christmas sweaters which should flip fast & a couple pair of designer jeans. I'll try to start taking photos of my haul to share with you guys!

Tomorrow I'm crossing my fingers for a productive day. Tonight I'll morn the loss of a great man. RIP Phillip.

Full Time Status!

First off, sorry for going silent for the last week! Leaving my job was hard and making sure everything was in order took all my time and energy.

Yesterday was my first day as a full time seller, I started my day by heading to the goodwill outlets where I spent $44 for 3 ikea bags full of goods! My favorite find was a "creative options" bunny sweater, I had no clue what it was when I grabbed it but it turns out I should profit about $150!

I'm still in shock! I grabbed some other great labels as well, which I was able to start listing yesterday and had already made my money back by this morning, here's some of the labels I've already listed...

Lululemon & St. John's are fist time finds for me, I'd been crossing my fingers and finally was able to snag them! Also I walked out with 2 pieces of my very favorite brand to score, Eileen Fisher.

My numbers have tanked this last week because I haven't put any time into my store. I did $150 today but am at only $700 for the week. Time to push myself!

My best seller today was this Lily Pilitzer for target jumper, I grabbed two of them last week for $6 each new with tags at goodwill. They have both sold for $60 total, not a bad flip.

My favorite sale from the week was this BMW lettermans jacket, I got it at the bins for probably $3 (99 cents a pound)

Tomorrow my husband and I are volunteering at my sons school in the morning, then ideally a trip to the bins and another 20 items listed!
